Cory Matthews was at my 25th birthday party, Pauly D wasn’t a celebrity so he was not, but Cory was sweating profusely from his face and hairline and that memory has lasted in my mind. It wasn’t a hot night, we were on the roof of the Formosa and he kept disappearing every 10 minutes to go downstairs. There’s a back bar and another downstairs bar with a bathroom so I figured he had some other friends having a party and was seeing if anything interesting was going on on the roof at my party.
Cut do about 45 minutes later when my friends poured champagne on my head as a danced like an asshole, I went downstairs to wash some of the champagne out of my shirt or eyes or jacket (who knows) and I couldn’t get in the bathroom, there’s a huge shadow behind the see thru window of the bathroom door - maybe someone was standing behind the door? I wait for another minute or two before I’m just wondering what’s going on and knock again on the door and hear a hurried, ‘I’LL BE OUT IN A SECOND - CHILL OUT DUDE’ - since I’m a chill dude, I chilled. I hear a random flush, a bunch of sniffing and the faucets turned on full blast.
Next thing I know two guys walk out (there’s like one stall in that bathroom MAYBE) and I’m face to face with Cory Matthews and his white ringed nose as he pats me on the shoulder and tells me it’s going to be OK. Boy Meets World sure, birthday boy meets drug addicted former tv star and right then I know that it was all going to be OK.
